(What is a QR Code?)
If you happen to hear the term ‘QR Code‘, the first thing that may enter your mind is “(what is a QR code)?” (QR code) is an abbreviation for (‘Quick Response Codes’). A (quick response code) is a type of barcode. QR codes are more advanced than a typical barcode that is often seen located on an item in a store. Standard barcodes are used to keep track of inventory, most commonly in retail settings. This process makes it simple for stores to keep track of what is being sold or returned. The use of standard barcodes also speeds up the process of checking out. A (QR barcode), however, is generally used for more technological purposes. They can store much more data than a traditional barcode can which gives them an advantage in uses beyond store fronts. The type of data they can store is essentially endless, they often use alphabetic, numeric, binary or Kanji symbols to enter the data into the (QR barcode) format. (QR codes) are used most commonly for marketing and advertising purposes. They are two-dimensional barcodes that can be scanned through the use of barcode scanners than can easily be downloaded on most models of Smartphones. When a (QR code) is scanned on a Smartphone, a website, phone number or e-mail address automatically shows up on the phone and presents the user with additional information about the product, store or person, the (QR code) was located on. The standard look of a qr code is black and white, with a pattern arranged in a square format. This is the most basic look of a (QR code) though recently, custom QR codes have become popular. A custom (QR code) can feature a brand logo or bright colors to help grab attention and draw a potential customer into scanning the code to receive more information. While custom (QR codes) are rapidly gaining popularity, you are most likely to see more of the standard looking (QR codes).
